Community Projects
Community projects and service to the community is an integral part of our mission. Our members and youth are involved in many community activities that consolidate their sense of community responsibility while integrating multiple cultures and values.
Food Donation Drive
On June 13th, Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis collected over 1000 food cans, during the Open House of our GSSTL CENTER, benefiting Team Food Pantry in Hazelwood. Thanks to the generosity and selflessness to help feed the hungry families in our community. With your help we made a big impact in the community of our new home. "On behalf of TEAMs volunteers, clients and the board we wish to say thank you to, the GSSTL CENTER, a non-profit organization (Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis). As president of the board I wish to thank ou for choosing our North County community and thank you for what you have done for TEAM." Mark Behlmann. |

Making Masks
Given potential shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) we worked with community partners and volunteers to sew masks for the local healthcare organizations and for general use. Fabric masks offered the benefit of being able to be washed and re-used. This was a perfect opportunity to make a crucial difference from home! We are very proud of the difference our members made to the community, at large, during this trying times. Some donated supplies and materials like fabric & elastic, others volunteering to pick and drop-off materials and masks, still several others using their sewing skills to make the masks. These masks were distributed to local health organizations like Barnes & Jewish Hospital, SSM Healthcare and others. |

Blood donation is important because maintaining an adequate blood supply in our community secures blood transfusions for patients. And IT SAVES LIVES. The Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis organizes regular blood donation drives in tandem with local blood banks like Mississippi Regional Blood Center, America Red Cross and others.
